NAO Catalog - Nativity & Christmas ThemesNAO has several Nativity sets: a
"child Nativity" (#s 457-463); a set in a more or less traditional aesthetic (serial
numbers not sequential; see individual items listed); and the same set in
Gres but without the
kings. The child Nativity set is quite unusual, with praying children substituting
for adult figures and the traditional animal Nativity slots held by a small
lamb and a cat. While this was grouped in retail catalogs as a Nativity set and is
numbered sequentially, it is obvious from both the models and the titles that
they were also meant to stand alone, and it is difficult to say whether the
Nativity configuration was by creative design or marketing afterthought.
